Why do you always need to be so sarcastic?

Anyway, I've made my own intake, plexiglass rad cover and I'm working on my throttle body mod.

thanks 1987rx7guy. im not looking for ideas to try because i dont have the experience/know how,but im learning and im not an idiot . you were a newbie once too. i just know lots of parts for these are hard to find or exspensive. and i know lots pf people on here are friggin geniuses.so i know people have fabricated their own stuff. i think the coolest thing ive seen is the guy making plexi sunroofs.

Too thin Santiago, you need to use thick alum for that, so the expansion is the same for the plate as for the manifold or engine

well back to the original question there are lots of things you can do by yourelsf especaily if you like tinkering. tb mod. cold air box, electrix aux/vdi activation. manifold porting. one thing i realy like about these cars is that there isnt as much aftermarket support as for other cars so some stuff you still just gota do yourself.

Holly carp icemark has a site! first time ive ever seen it posted. Now i just need to save up money to fix all the broken *** electronics in my FC,...

I've made my own 6-port inserts and i also made a divider for the lower intake manifold that i JB welded in so the 6-ports had there own intake track,.. that didnt work as well as i planned though so i removed it.

you should put a link in your sig icemark, something like

I make a bunch of little parts for myself and customers when I can't find them reasonably priced, such as a CAI, rear fuel sump, fuel rails, adjustable sway bar endlinks, braided oil lines, braided MOP lines, PP housings, various tools, etc etc.
I've long given up on ever producing anything in volume for the FC... FC owners are far too cheap to bother wasting R&D time and investment on; you ask for interest in a product and then when it comes time to buy, it never sells. Ask Icemark about this with his white-faced logicon, or Dave Gibson who FINALLY had CF hoods built. If the product isn't available for $30, then its not worth spending the money on.

I generally buy things such as BOP or flywheel brakes from companies that will spend their profits on serious R&D of products for our cars

How's this for recycling - a torque brace made from a former split air pipe?

I wonder if you could mount a potato cannon on the hood, shoot cars from a distance. Rig the air pump to pressurize the pvc pipe, flip a switch on a solenoid and, BAM! one potato rocket.

That a great engineering thought process there. Should we think about any of the stress levels before we just make something. Nah. Should we test the stresses of the metal to see under pressure it would move causing a leak. Nah. Should we do anything before we just throw this thing on the motor. Neh. This is one reason why I will not buy parts off this forum. There are only a couple people who are actual engineeres, and there are only a few who actually test there stuff out, and use an accurate thought process to get to their final product.

well one idea i was kicking around was fabbing up some aluminum underbody pannels. i need a replacement for my underpan but i figured it might be worth a try to extend the paneling under the tranny and diff. off coarse id have to leave strategic holes to keep the exaust heet from building up but if done correctly this could have a signifigant impact on the cars aerodynamic efficiency and actauly create some downforce without looking realy tacky like a bolt on wing.

anyone tried this before?

You would need to do wind tunnel testing to effectively do this. Any large change like that will greatly affect the aerodynamics of the car, but it could be in a bad way. It takes a lot to design a full undertray, and diffuser, that's why there aren't that many out there for our cars.

icemark you should do a writeup on how to strip ALL the emmisions equipment off an fc, and then provide it with your blockoff plate kits, ie make a complete emissions removal kit.

yeah i geuss but youde think that anything that just keeps the air from whizzing around the very unaerodynamic drivetrain and gives it a straiter/smoother path would be an improvment. im not looking to make maximum possible downforce or anyhting like that just a little improvement.

i mean you dont need a flow bench to know how to port manifolds do you???

some great things can be acheived by just applying principles without actauly having hard data. how dou you think the writebrothers got off the ground? (ok they had crewd wind tunnels, but most of their work was through theories and trial and error) a little critical thinking will go a long way without technical instruments

make yer own cole air intake or take ur FTP lenses off and make the grommet bigger that goes from the passengers FTP to the engine bay so air can actually go to your intake and make a heat sheild...

Well see, it's just difference of opinion. I'm more of a guy that wants the technical data, and proven tests to analyze. That's cool. Good luck.
