holds back, help

while driving my 86 gxl about 3600 to 4000 rpm it slow then kind of picks up what do you do to fix this or are they just like that

it may also be a grouding problem. You may have to reground your car as this has worked for many other FC owners. Search for threads that have to do with grouding. I believe there is a grouding how to in the FAQ that offers some good advice on doing this.
