HKS turbo timer install....
Alright before anyone says it, yes I know its pointless but when somethings cheap...why not. Alright, i have an older HKS (type iv) turbo timer and am a little lost as to how to get this thing to work. I track down the bundle of wires coming from the ignition and there are three sets with three plugs. Two are black and one is white. Which one do i use?
THEN, the wiring harness that came with it has FOUR black plugs on the end of it....2 male and 2 female. The wires make a diamon shape because they are all over the place it seems. If anyone has an actual picture of which plugs from the wiring harness i am supposed to use and which plugs from under the dash i am to use then thanks. If you can point out the color of the wires that would even be helpful. Right now the harness is plugged into one of the black plugs and the car works fine. But the turbo timer isnt on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.....

OK if you go under the dash right after the ignition switch you will see those wires that you have to connect to simply
connect the male wires to the harness and the female to the other clip in the harness
ahh its very dificult to explain this but hopefully someone will help out

between the drive shaft theres two clips femal/male connected
if those are big clips those are the ones you connect the harness to ...remember what ever clip from the harness you are using you have to connect both male/female to that clip
the small ones do the same and turn your car on if it starts you are half way done, now set it for like 15 seconds ...if your car turns off when you take out the key you connected them wrong..if it satys on wait the 15 seconds
you are done unless you have that damn e brake clip witch is purple

well here is the deal....there are 3 bundles of wires with clips trailing from the ignition. I plugged the tt into all three and everytime the car still starts. In fact, the started with each one unplugged (i was trying to see which were the actual ignition wires) until i got to the white plug. If it is left undone, the car wont start. I thought, "Bingo!" and plugged in the tt....so the car starts cause the bridge is gapped but the tt still doesnt turn on. I could be a complete jackass and not know how to turn the damn thing on but i dont think thats the case.

i have on old school hks turbo timer and it's pretty easy to see where the wires go. it's a pretty simple one, just have 5 or six buttons for setting the time. if you want in the morning i will snap some pics.

ok heres whats going...theres the turbo timer itself, the harness attached directly to it then the plug n play harness with 4 plugs at the end...
then theres a pic under the dash which is kinda hard to make out...but there are 2 black harnesses and one white one (near bottom right)....
right now the black harness under the dash with two larger wires running through it is what ive got it plugged into and the car works fine....im using the male and female harnesses fromt he tt that have the green and red wires...not the blue and yellow ones......this all just seems like there are way too many wires here....

im not sure on that one. I never installed a turbo timer before on a fc and Im just going by what I know when I took it off. Can't you just try it in every single way. Call up a HKS dealer, they should be able to help you out.

Wow, sorry I didn't see this thread sooner.
There are three harnesses coming from the ignition cylinder. 2 are black and one is white. Disconnect the black harnesses only, these are the ones used for the install. I don't remember the wire colors off of the top of my head, but these are where the 2 female and 2 male couplers are connected from the adapter harness. Once these are connected, you have to connect the ground wire first before you get any power to the turbo timer. Once it is grounded, you should be good to go unless you are also going to hook up the parking brake wire, which I am trying to find right now and am not having luck with. If you still need help, I can get a pic of the harness already installed so you can see how it goes.
So, does anyone know where the parking brake wire is and how to get to it?

incase your still in need if I recall correctly from when I was installing mine (my instructions were in japanese, but then again the TT was free so I couldnt complain) the harnesses are prettymuch universal
which means even if you cant find yours on the web site you should be able to follow the directions of one of the newer models that are actually on the site
--someone double check me on this but Im fairly sure...
