HKS F-CON and FD pump?

I am about to install a HKS F-CON on my T2 -89 (S5).
I also have a FD pump in the garage, should i install this together with the FCON or wait till i can se results on a dyno?

The reason i ask is becasue i planned to put everything on at the same time, but now i´ve read that the FD pump can make the car go rich on idle and that the F-CON can not cope with anything different than stock pump?

Since the F-CON seems pretty good at making the best out of stock injectors and stock fuelsystem, do you think i should wait with the FD pump?

I´m planing on running no more than 11 psi, so i dont need killer fuel i think! Maybe the F-CON will make enough fule on the stock pump?

Please answer you guys with experience!!

My other mods are: Hybrid T04B (S3-trim) ported wg, Bonez DP and racecat, 3" MazdaSpeed catback, stock IC, Stock injectors, Knightsports EBS2 boostcontroller

F-con

Hey Scott, thanks for replying, but are you sure?
I heard from another guy in Japan that wrote "oh and make sure you get fuel pressure regulator if you put bigger fuel pump..mine start running very rough with FD fuel pump without regulator" this was the guy i bought some parts from and it seems like he and i have pretty much the same mods otherwise..... But he had somekind of ECU chip AND the F-CON, dont know why, maybe for timing...
Do you know anyone with the FCON and FD pump?

My concern is if i need to put a FPR in, those are not for free and then i´m afraid the F-COn will malfunction anyway....

FPR's are a pretty cheap mod. Never hurt to buy an aftermarket one, our stockers are like 15 years old.

it'll be fine at idle. FD pump isn't much bigger.

j9fd3s, exactly what setup did you have?
FD Pump, FCON AND FPR or just F-CON and FD pump?
*Bit slow over here...*

Interesting...... do you have any idea how much bhp you had at 10-11 psi with that setup? Was your WG stock or ported?
*Curious*

I also have a f-con and a fd fuel pump installed in my 88 TII. I have been running about 10~12 psi with no problem at all for 2 years. The idle is very stable and it is running a little rice, but you want the car to run a little rich on the safe side. I also have a fpr waiting to be installed when I decide to upgrade my turbo and injectors...etc in the future. I don't see any bad results on this set up.
