The results of that mod have been very mixed. For some it works great - and they get more juice out of the alt. But for some it screws up their charge circuit pretty bad. Do a search on it - I know I've read a number of posts debating that mod.

I plan on doing this, but my battery will be relocated and I'm not gonna buy the HKS kit just for some engraving on the blocks. Regular dist blocks will be fine for me.....

the blocks aren't even engraved!!! you just get the nice smoked plastic cover, HKS labelled wires and the battery terminal logo. Sure, thats not worth all the money at ALL but it's a nice kit for what it is and it's cool they make it for the car.

Can sombody please explain to me how they do such a nice crimp job? I have a regular crimper from Home Depot, and my crimps never com out so nice. Maybe its the plastic/shrinkwrap stuff they put over the terminals and the portion of the wire that is crimped that makes it loos so nice.

Is there a better crimper / terminal set / cool shrink wrap that I need to buy?

Help me out guys.

It's the shrink wrap. I doubt the crimps are that high of quality.

They make a LARGER crimp tool (almost NEEDED for 0/1 AWG) that can be used on smaller wire (8AWG). I'd just as soon use some copper battery terminals from wal-mart's auto dept. a hammer, and a chisel.

hehe well like i said the battery terminal cover is engraved...the actual distrubution circle isn't. I will be puting the car on the dyno soon to get some pre-TII swap numbers so maybe I'll un-hook the kit from the terminal and take a run without to see if there are actually any gains/curve changes. almost through w/ this tank of gas though and i can already tell we're gonna have improvements here. never really would have though this would be a worthwhile upgrade...those "hyperground" kits are supposedly more efficient than the HKS style "octopus" kit bc every wire is linked. I guess they do work to a degree...that WRX and the FD in the past couple issues of import tuner (subscription to the shop, I pay for super street not import tuner hehe) show nice gains for both cars. now that I have some positive results I can't cal it BS
