Hit and run... Need tail light info...

So some s.o.b. hit my rear driver side tail and its busted... I was looking online and I found a dude whos selling a 1990 drivers side taillight for very cheap... Will it fit an 88 rx7?

Otherwise I was eventually going to get the conversion lights (the type in my avatar <--) but I cant find anywhere thats selling them... Maybe its cuz I dont know what to look for by name... How much do a pair of those cost generally?

I'm really new to 7s so someone correct me if i'm wrong

the 1990 drivers side tail is an s5 taillight as in the one posted in your avatar for a direct replacement you need tails from an 86 to 88 otherwise known as an s4 as long as you have to replace one you might as well go and find a set of s5 ones and be done with it

edit heres the link for the swap: s5 lights in a an s4

the license plate holder thing is too wide on your '88 lights, but you can cut it to fit the s5 tails.

Thanks for the info...

If the link is correct that you posted then Ill just buy the replacement rectangle lights for the $5 or whatever instead of dropping $200-$400... Ill have to talk to my body shop dude and see what he'll need

I would like the S5 lights too because my rear reminds me of a POS Dodge Shadow but I want to keep it stock so I'll use the $500 for the next surprise

I need a driver side S5 tail. Been looking for over six months with no luck.

The sets of S5 on Ebay go for under 200.

The S5 tail lights goes around 200. and you will need a license plate holder from the S5 too in order to do the conversion. I think it looks better. But you can pick up S4 tail lights for 20 bucks

go to mazdatrix.com order the S5 replacement tails. Dunno how much they run, but it's very cheap, and yes they to fit, might have to do some bending, but they'll work. Note, you can not use the vert tail lights on the coupes or the otherway around.

If you dont have 200 bucks to spend to get the S5 tailights go to the closest junkyard and look for RX7s!
If you are lucky you might find a S5 RX7 with the tailights still on the car.
