higher oil pressure after oil change???

let me start by saying i have an 89 gxl with about 204k on it, i have always changed my oil 1500 to 2000 miles with castrol gtx 20w50 with a mazda oem oil filter and i changed my oil and filter, and fuel filter today.

usually my car's oil pressure sits around 30 psi idleing, 45 crusing, and a hair below 60 full throttle. well since i changed my oil today my idleing oil pressure is sitting at 45psi, crusing at 60psi, and no change at full throttle.

i think is is kinda weird, the only thing i could think of is a defective oil filter but not sure...

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Talking

Swap in a different / new filter and see what happens.

Mine runs 45PSI at Idle and 60psi at cruise. But it's always done that.

Either the oil you have put in is a higher weight, or the gauge is starting to act strange (common). Clean the gauge connection at the sender and see what happens.

Don't worry too much about high oil pressure. That's still within factory specs.
