High school question
High school question
I'm 16. Senior in high school.
About to turn 17.
I have 1 job.
I'm running a S4 SE N/A. (Worse as can get, right?)
And it's completely stock except for a straight pipe.
So here is my question.
Should I sell my S4 N/A and buy a S5 TII?
Or just stick to this S4 N/A as my first car?

nope just wait till you blow it up!your eventually going to want a tii. if you have the means to afford it then get one. my first car was an rx7 also. but please don't make the same mistake as me and beat on it and not take care of it. otherwise it will leave you stranded
the real question is, what will the car be meant for?
personally id stick with the NA, just because gas is expensive, and id want to perfect my driving, and take the time to really get and understand the car.
but its all on you man. you're gonna be driveing it, not us yano?

I'm in basically the same boat as you (HS senior with S4 NA). For now, I'd stick with the NA. It's easier to keep up and cheaper to repair when it breaks. My friend (who is also a senior) bought an S5 TII and is now dealing with a blown motor and looking at $2k+ for a rebuild and other replacements. But, if you have a really good job, it's doable. I'd buy a TII if I could afford it. Just do what you think is best.

Here is my advice. Forget about the TII. It will only take money out of your pocket and distract you from Life.
Drive the S4 N/A and concentrate on your education.
Good Luck!
dude, come on jackhild. quit kidding with him, my **** has almost doubled insize since i got my fc a few years back! (too bad thats still not saying much....)
ok i was in a similar spot as you were. except i turned 16 as a freshman lol. i looked at the NAs and TII cause i was buying my own car. well i bought the TII. what i should have done is bought a cheap NA and fixed it up learning everything i could about the rotary engine and working on cars in general.
so my personal opinion is to stick with the NA if its in good running condition and just fix it up nice for now. then when your out of high school(8 or so months) go to college or get a good job and start saving up money for a DD and buy a nice TII

Hey, I'm 17 and a senior as well, and I've had my S4 n/a since I was 14
I would love to have a T2, but with college coming I don't think I could afford one now. If that's the route you plan on going I would just say n/a until you're out of college. Get to be good with your car like the others are saying, and when you do get a T2 you'll be more familiar with everything...

The SE is light, has the most affordable brakes and tires, and requires less maintenance than a TII. It is actually the best for your situation. It is an excellent car to learn autocross.
I recommend that you keep the SE until you are established in your first job after finishing college or trade school.

i bought a TII for my first rotary powered vehicle, i regret it i lovce it and hate it, i should have learned the N/A first would have been a big help, and money saver for later on with the TII. finish school get an education make alot of money then dump it into your car or make a budget to spend on your N/A, but read alot and search before asking questions other wise you will get bashed!
Don't get an S5 TII, they're too expensive and hard to fix (b/c of part availability) for your highschool income level. Find a clean s4 with one or two owners and as few modifications as possible. Expect to spend $4000-5000 for one in the shape I'm talking about.
Get a nice car, but don't take it to college. You will find it tempting to work on your car and loose out on chances to have fun and meet nice girls
. After the first semester you would of had your fun than take it to school with you.

If you are a Senior in High School at age 16, you must be a pretty bright guy. I will share some wisdom that, if you heed it, will put you ahead of most people on this forum and even most people your age: Cars do not make you cool, they do not make your IQ higher or your d**k longer, or make you better looking or help you learn to deal with life.

Well umm I'm not really looking for cars to up my cool, up my IQ nor to "make my dick long".

I simply want a faster car for my own enjoyment. I've loved an FC ever since I started playing Initial D. But as I came up and started looking at the real specifications, I started to realize it's not only the looks and how cool it looked. This car is just simply ******* amazing. That's why I wanted a TII S5. But as most people said, availability on parts for the S5 and the problems caused by a turbo, doesn't seem fit for a kid like me. I shall stick to this S4 N/A SE and make the best of it!
At least till I have money for an actual TII S5.
i wouldnt spend time on a S4 SE model... you could sell it and hopefully find a S5 TII for a lil more. Or even a S5 GTU or GXL... anything over a s4 se lol. You would obiously spend a good chunk of money to upgrade it to simular S5 spec *5lug, brakes, body, interior, motor etc*
Sell the SE, work a little bit to save a little money, find a good condition priced S5 TII... and enjoy it for what it is. You will learn mechanics real fast lol. But you are still young, the joys of building and playing with cars starts after highschool in my opinion. When you can actually afford to play with em.
