high oil pressure

high oil pressure

what causes high oil pressure??

mine is slightly over the top mark on the gauge, has been since i bought the car but just resently i got an oil leak and thought i might be time to fix that pressure

It's most likely the stock gauge is faulty. Try confirming actual oil pressure with an aftermarket gauge. Try to clean the connection on the oil pressure sender under the oil filter and make sure the black condensor is bolted onto the slave on the tranny and the wire isnt broken.

Tap on the sender with a screwdriver or such and see if the gauge tweaks any, for starters...

Oil filter clogging, pressure relief valve spring too strong or improperly shimmed (or PO installed a higher pressure valve), e-shaft bypass valve sticking, lots of things could cause it...

thanx for the info!

anyone has any pics to check?? always nice with pictures hehe

have this small metal "pipe" sticking out close to the O-filter(right under the ICpiping) that looks like something should be connected to it maybe part of the problem?
