High Idle and car heating up fast

One of the hoses going to the firwall has a leak and is leaking coolant. I put duct tape on until I can get a new hose but my car is overheating when I drive it. It has an idle of about 1500 and it was 750. Anyone?

replace it NOW! dont drive it. the duct tape will not hold. i blew a heater hose before, and not only was it really messy, but my car overheated badly. there was steam poring out of the engine and stuff. not fun at all. i got it fixed at midas (because it was a block from where the hose blew) and it ended up costing $130. yours doesnt sound wuite as bad, but i would only drive it if you absolutely have to.

Thanks for the advice man. Could mine be a heater hose too? I don't know what the hose is called but it goes into the firewall and is kinda twisty.(and of course has coolant in it)
