High-Flow Cat Question

A friend of mine has a high flow cat (for a ford probe), he's thinks it's a 2.5" piece. I had an idea to use it tho. Bolt the high flow-cat up to my Apexi N1 Evo Cat-back, then maybe a mid-pipe that would replace 2 pre-cats and bolt to the stock manifold.

Could it work?

I wouldn't. While the Ford Probe is a lot like the RX-7, it's not a rotary, so the cat probably isn't high temp.

The stock "mid-pipe" probably no longer has cats, and if it does, you can fix that. All you need is somebody with a welder and a pipe bender (see any exhaust shop) to copy the approximate bend of it though to replace it.

If you're really trying to get performance out of your exhaust, maybe you should consider the RB header.

Might be helpful in considering other hi-flow cats: https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...05&postcount=1

This is new. You want to show me where this technical specification can be found when buying a cat?

since when was there ever any technical specifications for rotaries in aftermarket parts? go to kragen and try to get some engine parts, you'll see what we mean. just because something works doesn't mean it is right.

magnaflow and bonez are the only cats i would use and maybe the metallic substrate converters but the better ones are $
