high flow cat question

ok so my stock cat has a crack and is annoying as hell. before i had a leak there and at my flange after the cat, because my gasket was gone. so my friend welded my new cat back apex exhaust to the cat and said i might be able to pass smog with my cat if not i have to repair it or replace it.

so my question is should i replace it with another oem or a highflow? that is if fixing it doesnt work.

i also heard from another friend that the exhaust heat from my rotary will fry a high flow...is this true?

Which cat?(pre or main?) Is it a S4 or S5? Turbo?

In any case, you need the cat to pass smog. You'll get some performance gains with the highflow cat on a turbo, not so much on a N/A. You live in California like me so replace what's broken so you can pass smog. You can get a universal catalytic converter at most exhaust shops for $90.

just get the bonez that racing performance offers. Its like 345 for a presilencer and high flow cat that fits perfectly and helped me pass in CA.

If your pre's are clogged you're probably losing a lot of power anyways.

I bought one of these and have been happy.

It will eliminate the pre cats and supposed high flo cat.
The price isnt listed but they list it for $150. if you add it to your cart.

ive passed with a one new cat (make sure it has the air pipe for 6 ports) have your local exhaust shop weld one in and a pipe that connects it to you manifold. (80-90$ for the cat and about 1 hour labor)

search about how to pass smog on here lots of info-
