High Beam Blow Out

I need to pass inspection and my passenger side high beam keeps blowing out - when new lights are put in it works but it must be blowing out after that first time I put on the high beams when I use them later while driving. I have searched and cannot find a similar thread and am not savvy with rx7 electronics just yet. Has anyone ever fixed this problem or have any advice?

Chances are either the wire responsible for high beam is shorting out or the ground wire is problematic though if the ground wire were problematic it should affect your low beam as well. You might want to disconnect the plug off the back of the driver side headlight and plug it into the passenger side headlight after you remove it (passenger light) and hold it in hand or place it near the driver side light and see if for sure that the high beam on the passenger side is truly blown or not. If it works with the driver side plug connected then it is the high beam wire for the passenger side that is problematic.

It could be that the connector was burnt out from running too much current through it. If the connector looks discolored, replace it.

Thanks for the help I was able to take a close look at it today and the connector had a split wire a bit farther back, I was able to repair this and the high beams are back to working condition.

The wire that was split led to the the right most inlet part of the connector while looking into the female side, which I can now say is responsible for the high beam.
