Hiccuping around 2500 and general roughness

wtf, mate? every now and then it hiccups from about 2-3 grand, generally around 2500, which is a real pita when you're trying to drive... And every now and then when I start from a stop it feels like i'm about to kill it like it has no power and such.
stock 87NA, like 110k miles.

sounds like a TPS problem. go spec out the TPS and make sure it's set correctly and make sure to do a full slow sweep to see if there are any flat spots or spikes along the way.
