Hi! New owner with a weird A/C question...
Hello!
So I just picked up a 1988 N/A Coupe...
Ive found a lot of need to know information on the forums, but I couldnt find anything on the A/C problem im having...
Heres the problem:
The A/C doesn't work all the time.
When it does work, it does blow cold air but not very hard.
I have found that if I jam the A/C button down and play with the fan controls that I can usually get the A/C to come on.
Im guessing this has something to do with the A/C controls?
Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
Thanks!!

Hey welcome to the Club.
You may have some problems with the control unit. It is called the logicon. I have experienced shorting or 'dead spots' in the continuously variable fan speed control. When the fan cuts out, the compressor loses the signal to run.
You could buy a used logicon on the for sale section. That's what I did. The logicon is interchangeable from the S4 to S5. That's 86 through 91.
You may also have some issues with the flapper controls, but I would tackle the logicon first. That may solve all your issues.
Good Luck!

Ok, I finally got a logicon and swapped it out.
The logicon seems to work fine and I can hear the A/C come on when I turn it on, but cold air doesn't come out unless I'm driving...
Should I swap out the blower or could it be something else?
