hhmmm. Interestingthoughts. Too much air? Or just nuts?

Well I have posted before about the no power on my GXL. I have removed the secondary throttle plates and my dad seems to think that the car is getting to much air because of it. I did blow and old exhaust gasket wide open the other day and that is what I think it is. The car has no power but once you get to over 4000rpm it gets to speed just fine but NO power. Its weird. hhmmm. Are we just nuts? There is however no usable power under 400rpm.

It can't be "too much air" from the removal of those throttle plates, since the computer measures airflow directly and thus will compensate for any airflow changes.

Thats what I told him but he still is like, too much air. But he is a piston head and not a rotor head. Hes good on carbs but hates fuel injection.

I haven't read about your problems before but have you done all the maintence things(filters, plugs, wires)? Is the car stock?

soudns like your primary injectors could have loose wires or be clogged

piston/rotor means nothing... EFI is EFI.

If I understand you correctly, you said you blew out the exhaust gasket???

You would have to not have any exhaust leaks within 12-18 inches of the block to have any meaningful low end torque. Venting to the air would definitely reduce your power.

To top that off your O2 sensor is probably going crazy at anything but WOT.

Ooh, good call.... the computer ignores the O2 sensor at full throttle, and also any time above 3800.
