hey there... new to 2nd gens... recently acquired 1988 vert
hey guys hows it going.... just thought i'd post a couple pics of my 88 vert i recently purchased.... this isnt my first rotary... i started with 93....funny story about this vert... i wasnt even looking for a rx7... was at a dealership and seen it in the back corner.... the dealership sells mostly high end sports cars... z06's, porsches, ferraris etc etc... so anyways i was lookin at the rx7 it just came in as a trade in.... the owner of the dealership didnt care for it on his lot so he sold it to me for 1500 bucks... cert & etested.... only 1 owner and 130km... guess i was in the right place at the right time...

Great car, great deal, although verts can't get out of their own way, but who cares, you've got the sky above your head!!! Was that $1500 US? Pretty damn good for a car with 80K on the odometer!

Congrads on your new car.
I can say that this is a fine car both stock and potential.
My '88 was bought new by me and I drove for 116000 miles before embarking on the exciting path of modifications.
What an adventure and important learning experience.
Now with over 400 whp, she is even better and she is very unique and fun to drive.
Look around as you drive and notice how many cool but vanilla sports cars are on the road that scream "also-ran" sameness!!

Oh wow! I paid more ($2250) for mine with more miles (170,000 miles), super low compression, ripped top, ripped shifter boot, slipping clutch, everything in its all-original glory. And that was back in '04. It was my first car though, and I'm proud to still have it. That is one car I'll never get rid of.
I'll modify the **** out of it, but I'll never get rid of it Mine actually will "get out of its own way" now. I loved that car when it was naturally aspirated, but a little more power makes it so much more fun!
