the new cat finally got in the other day. its been installed but i havent started the car yet, soooooooo much keeps happening with the car, im half glad and half depressed that it keeps breaking, but at least there is alot less that can go wrong now, i almost know the vacuum system by heart ive ripped the system apart so much. i also found a high pressure radiator leak, but im not going to replace it for a bit as its at the top of the rad, and they system runs fine for right now. i replaced all four fuel injectors, and ALL four of the new o-rings blew and guess what all four of them went bac, i lost about 4 gallons of fuel on a four mile drive after witch i sat on a curb holding a fire extinguisher at the ready for 10 mins.

the other night (before the new cat was installed, i ran the car with out the mid cat, it was pretty cool to see the flame jump 2.5 feet.

oh wait, cat as in catalytic converter.

I was thinking cat as in the animal, which explains why I couldn't see one.

I feel dumb now.

Williamson and we do test, if your in tn maybe you can help, or probly not as it just be came time critical. ok about a week and a half ago i replaced my fuel injectors (all four), the first o-ring went out 5 secs after the motor started. the second went out after a 10 mile test drive. the next morning i drove to work with approximately 4 or 4.5 gallons of fuel, my drive is less then 4 miles, i had to coast into my parking spot, all the remaining fuel was gone out of my tank, and i sat holding a fire extinguisher for 10 mins until all the all the fuel burned off, lucky me it didnt catch fire.

the next day i brought 5 gallons of fuel, and my tool kit to work on the car, and ripped [the motor] apart right there in the parking lot. i found that the last 2 o-rings were bad (just as an update, yes ALL four of my brand new o-rings were bad, and replaced). the car started, i backed out of my parking spot and started driving away, the rpm droped and the car died i tried to start the car, the battery was dead, my alternator was not tight enough, this was fixed i found some one to jump start the car, but it wouldnt idle, and the pansy didnt know how to undo the jumper cables so i let it charge for a min, then obviously as soon as i took my foot off the gas it died. i quickly collect my cables and sit around for a bit for a friend to show up and try and jump me again, the car didnt restart, so we pushed it into a parking spot and left it there, you should know the mid cat is missing at this point, as in there is a two foot gap (open air) between my lead cat and my trail cat.

the next day after work, i dove in a different car, i pulled up next to my rex and connected the jumper cables, it ran real jumpy for a bit then seamed to level off, then as if it decided to try and scare me it started climbing the tach while im out side the car not touching the motor. i run back and take a look it climbing past 3, 4, 5, 6, around 6.5 i decided to turn the car off i didnt want it going to much higher. i turn the car back on, it runs fine, i touch the gas it goes up then comes right back down, as i am about to get out of the car i notice a blue light from under the car, i lie down to look, its a 2 foot long flame thrower, not worried about it, just thought id mention it cuz it looked cool. anyways i shut it down to not wake up the people in the houses near by (yes it was really that loud), and leave. the new mid cat gets in the next day, its a magnaflow direct fit, i install it, guess what the car wont start. over the past few days ive after i get off of work i jump the car and spend about an hour with it trying to get it started. the closest thing to getting it started is the first time i try which it gets to about 1500 then falls out of the sky, and every time after that i cant get even 500 rpm. after three nights of just not wanting to remove the cat i waited a month and a half for, tomorrow after work im going to go ahead and remove the cat. ill update tomorrow.

sorry for the long post.

why are you going to remove the cat? it's not the reason your engine wont start.

I am in Murfreesboro, so a little ways away. Did you just replace the o-rings, or the grommets as well? I ask because I just replaced my o-rings and the grommets starting leaking, replaced them and all is good.

PM Fire85GSL-SE he is in Cool Springs.
