hey i'm stuck..
alright.. i'm doing my motorswap (s4 13bt to s5 13bt) and everything is in place (pretty much I think) I made hecka progress last night, so now.. my starter cranks the motor, and the fuel pump is working fine (since i didn't disconnect anything for that to do the swap) OK.. so then I checked the spark and there was none. I got my little tester light dealy and checked to see if my coils were getting power and ground, and they were... so I got a question. What are the wires that attach to it to give it signal to get the spark? any certain colors or types of plugs that I need to find on my wiring harness to my car? I hecka wanna make this thing run right now...
You can not check the signal wires for the coils (from the ECU) with a test light.
Links for the factory service manuals (and the wiring diagrams in them) can be found in the FAQ for Fc sticky thread at the top of this second gen RX-7 technical section.

and if you put your test light on a trigger wire, you could smoke the coil, and/or ignitor and/or ECU.
