Hey guys...you think i should buy this??

its only 200 bucks

the engine has compression problems, and the cat. converter needs to be looked at...engine does not run currently but everything else is there. the current owner already bought parts to attempt to fix everything, but he never got around to it, he is going to include the parts w/ the car purchase...

you guys think its a good buy??

im going to check it out personally in 2 days...

Heh, I was in your boat not too long ago. I bought one for $300 that had compression problems. Turns out... completely dead engine. Hehe.

Anyways, looks like a steal at $200. Especially if you get the "fix-it" parts from the previous owner. You could easily make that much money back and more by parting it out. On the other hand, if you want to make it streetable, you could rebuild it or have it rebuilt and it would make a nice daily driver.

Edit: Haha, whoa... I did not even notice that. That looks weird!

Well... if you supply copius amounts of alcohol and the money for the overhaul kit, I am sure a lot of rotary enthusiasts would be glad to help you out. I think Rotary Aviation's master overhaul kit runs somewhere close to $900.

You also have to remember these are old cars and you might run into broken/brittle rubber lines. You will have to factor in AutoZone costs to replace those as well.

Depending on if the housings and rotors are in good shape you might be able to get away with a rebuild for about $1,000 or so. Sure as hell beats taking it to Mazda and getting shafted with their bill. >$3K

I'd buy it. You can send it out to kevin landers and have him rebuild it for you for ~$1000 or so.

He lives in San Diego... Im not trying to take busniess from him, but FC3S.org or something like that has rebuilds especially for the 13b as well.

As for not knowing much about rotaries, read the FAQ, it would help a lot.

Yeah, there's probably reputable places that are nearby as well, but I always suggest Landers.

That looks kinda like the one that was for sale down the street from me (in Mira Mesa). I didn't move on it though and it disappeared. If you don't plan on buying it RCHB, let me know so I can swing by and have a look.

Best of luck if you do buy it!

Buy it. Damn, that is so cheap, and it probably has no rust at all. Can't find anything for that here.

Dude! That is tripping me out. It looks so wierd. The only thing I can think of is that the lense is there and it has been painted over, but it doesn't even look like there is a hole there.

RCHP, can you answer this for us?

Tim

it would make a good parts car lol, no but really between the engine and exhaust problems you better be willing to spend atleast $2000 and up depending on what else you run into, oh yeah and fix that ftp lens, that just looks funky

You can put an S5 bumper on an S4 with no problem but the side molding on the fenders won't line up so you will have to change those.

The missing FTP lense is someone's unfinished attempt at custom body work. It was probably filled with bondo or something to try and eliminate both FTP's but they never finished the other hole. That's my guess at least.

My brother just came up with a good idea. When you get it, just hit it with a hammer where the hole would be. It should just pop right out.

it should pop out but I doubt it will pop out clean and you will have to re-paint that newly painted front bumper.
