well... when i check it, it's over the high point on the dipstick... but i thot it wouldn't matter that much.. considering it eats it anyway... any thoughts? maybe the oil pressure is messed up and i'm losing power?? i dunno i'm just shootin bull i'm new at this

I don't think overfilling the oil could cause a loss of power, but you're going to do yourself some damage if you filled it enough that your oil pressure get too high. Luckily, you have a gauge for that, so check it.

There's a lot of misinformation here.
First, oil level does not have anything to do with oil pressure. As long as the pump can pick up oil, the pressure will be set by the speed of the engine and the oil pressure regulator.
Second, nothing horrible will happen if you overfill the engine. Since there isn't an issue with windage in the rotary, a bit more oil is not an issue. I generally over fill by about a quart so I don't have to add oil between changes.
Third, you can end up frothing up the oil with the oil pump drive chain if you overfill. Usually this isn't much of an issue since the pickup is at the bottom of the pan.
