hesitation problem

i have a 86 gxl it starts to hesitate around 4500rpm and up until i get to redline what might that be it just start doing that today but only sometimes

in order to check:

stuck 5th/6th ports

leaking injectors

bad engine grounds

bad spark plugs/wires

bad ECU ground

i don't have 5th/6th ports i will check that stuff and i will let you know what i find out

i had the problem, and fixed it with new plugs and wires, and free flow exhaust. People find that different things work for their cars. Some people re-ground the whole engine and the problem will go away, and some people have put on new exhaust and had it go away, like me. Not much of a real answer for the problem, other than to do what Icemark said, check each thing out and see if it helps.

If you have a GXL then you have a NA motor... all FC NA motors have 5th/6th ports.

I am not familiar with N/A's, but are the 5/6 ports not an integral part of the block? How can you remove them? I think you may be mistaken.

Ah that somertimes results in poor idle and hesitationat cross over (3800 RPM) but sledom higher than that

today i was driving and i was at like 6000rpm and it goes down to like 4000rpm then goes back up what kind of problem would that be it
