hesitation help

ok i have the 3500 hesitation, but I cleaned my battary and checked the grounds, i dont have the one under the manifold next to the oil filler. i cleaned the two in the back of the motor to the fire wall., annd the one on the driver side wheel well.

no what i dont under stand is when i mash the throttle or put a load on it. thats when i get the hesitation, if i ease on the throttle it works fine.. why is that?

could my pressure sensor be bad, the one by the intake, could i have a vacume leak also or mis splaced line.... or do i have a faulting bac valve???? this is frustrating me... can you guys give me some advice....

maybe i should just buy a stand alone since i want to put a turbo motor in it next year...

i have and 86 S4 gxl 5 speed.

Secondary injectors clogged? Actuators frozen and not working? Sounds like you're not getting enough fuel under heavy acceleration demand, like when the secondaries should be kicking in.

Check them first. Put a dab of grease on the actuator piston and then go out for a drive and accelerate the engine to well over 4000. Then look at the actuator pistons. If the dab of grease is unchanged then you actuators are frozen. If the grease dab is smeared then the actuators are working. If they are frozen, you must take them off and use some penetrating oil to free them up. Don't leave the grease on them it will just collect dust and dirt.

You mentioned that you checked the grounds. Did you check the grounds at the ECU as well. There are 4 wires to the ECU that are grounds.

If that doesn't help I would definitely check the secondary fuel injectors. Typically if it is the ECU ground then the hesitation is going to come in at 3800 rpms.... almost to the dot. If it happens all over the tach then I'd say it's the injectors, not the grounds.

ok I disconnected the pressure or boost sensor which ever you want to call it and no change, NOw I didnt forget to mention I have a pretty bad exhause leak at the car Im getting it replaced next week. dont know if that has anything to do with it but hey.......

Illl try the ecu ground stuff next I guess but like I said it cant be that becuase if you have the hisitation shouldnt it be constant like no matter how much throttle past 3500 rpms? if I ease on the gas, like only go 1/4 the way it goes all the way to redline.!

So I will work on it the next couple of days and weeks and see what I get.

Ok well I further looked at my motor, as I did lube the actuators and they work, My plugs for the secondary injectors dont clip on really they jsut sit there lol... kind of funny I accidently ulled it off and it jsut slipped off. but I disconnected one and drove then I got the hurky jerky,

So I have come to the conclusion that its a fuel issue, becuase if I ease on the gas till 6000 rpm car works fine, but under laod it doesnt, so maybe its a fuel pump, fule filter, or something else that controls the fuel to it.

also my bac valve isnt working I think, becuase I diconnected it like it says to and my engine speen doesnt decrease.

So IM going to buy new injectors just to!
replace my fuel filter jsut too, annd check anything after that. anyone else with suggestions

I'm working on the same issue - just ordered injectors from local Auto Parts Store - Advance Auto Parts - remanufactured units for 85 each.

Will have next week - but will be a bit until I know if that solves issue as I have the full exhaust off - a complete RB header to mufflers should be here soon.

PS Working on my NA 88 Vert

You can get them online at just about any car site. Now may be the time to upgrade those bad boys! But, you'd have to regulate the extra fuel somehow...

Ok So here is the conclusion.

I had the hesitation at 3500 rpm. Here is the trick

My issue was I could ease on the throttle to 6500 rpm put anytime after 3500 rpm I couldnt mash on the throttle I always got a stutter really, with very very slight gain in speed.

So here is what I did.

I checked grounds. good. then I checked the secondary injectors I pulled out the PD, and took out injectors its a real easy thing to do. Then I blew threw both sides on both injectors, and also replaced the o-ring set which looked to be bad to mee. after I did that I primed the system checked for leaks good to go. go in started car revved a couple of time, was good to go.

When for a drive and vwalla, this lil ***** hauls ***, lets just say donut, drifting ****** ***** here lol.......this car has a street port I think it got some *****.

No I jsut got to fix the exhaust so I can stop getting sick after I drive it lol...
