Here's another 6 port to turbo question.

So I currently have a 5 series 6 port engine with a blown coolant jacket on the front iron. It's currently apart and it needs a front iron and 1 rotor housing.

I'm looking at my options and wondering what it would take to convert the S5 6 port to a turbo block.

I have various turbo parts like a front timing cover, upper intake manifold.

Could I just get front and rear turbo housings and 1 turbo rotor housing and use the center N/A iron or should I just say **** it, and just get a JDM engine ?

I'm asking because the 6 port engine only has 60k miles on it.
The other option as buying a JDM engine is that there is always a risk with those engines being junk.

Thanks in advance.

well the eshaft/and stat gears are the same turbo and non, so that all stays.

the rotor housings are also the same, except the NA doesn't have the water passage, and it has the baffled exhaust sleeve. the turbo only needs the rear coolant passage though so you can use the good NA housing on the front*

the center housing is basically the same, except there is an extra bolt for the turbo intake. you can probably drill and tap.

rotors are obviously different, high comp vs low comp.

i think i would be tempted to get a JDM engine, and use your low mile NA stuff to rebuild it.

*the rotor housings are F and R, the only difference is the air pump passage, so if you need to pass smog, and you're using the rotor housing in the wrong place, you need to drill the air pump passage.
