HELPP clutch problems!!!

In my 87 T2 I have a 1 year old Bonez S/S clutch, also a new Slave and Master Cylinder. Out of the blue my car started going into gear very grindyish. Also with it in first and the clutch pedal on the floor the car inches forward like I am disengagingthe clutch, and the catch point is now about 1 millimeter from the floor. I can watch the slave and master do there job correctly.
If I rev it to 6 and drop the clutch it lights them up so I dont think its the disc, and the pedal still has the same pressure so I dont think its the pressure plate.
So the Q's are:

1. What do you guys think it is?

2. Whats the easiest way to drop the tranny and still get it back up alone and with regular tools?

3. What EXACTLY am I looking for when I get the tranny off? (Never dealt with this before!)

Thanx guys!

have you had to ad any fluid lately? Hydralic* clutches have to be air free to work correctly and is a pain to do that, before you drop the tranny check for air also wear on the clutch linkage could cause similar problems...

Inside ,behind the cluth pedal theres a rod that pushes your master (cluth) cylinder, if that came loose or out off adjustment there would be not enough travel to fully disengage your clutch disc causing it to grind. Try this step on the cluth then start the car. if the car tries to move then your cluth is not disengaging fully again, suspect air BTDT

Your slave and master cylinder need to be checked

2. Whats the easiest way to drop the tranny and still get it back up alone and with regular tools?
A lift, Tranny jack. and a brain.

3. What EXACTLY am I looking for when I get the tranny off? (Never dealt with this before!)
You will see Mostly just gear oil. And a botched up release bearing. I hope you like the taste of gear oil because it will spew out of the bellhoushing!! Be shure to drain the oil first!!!!!

Thanx guys!
Your welcome.

PLease be more specific as to what to look for after dropping the tranny. As I said I have never done this before.

This problem is not strictly an RX-7 proble, but a common problem for almost all older cars.

Your best bet is to get a rebuilt master and slave clutch clinder. Get steel clutch line from the RX-7 store. Have someone change those out and flush the whole system. This should correct your clutch problems.

If these problems exsist still, you might need a tranny rebuild!

The master sand slave are both new, and the line is the steel one from RP! This happened over night, and some shifts into 1st or 2nd arent as bad as others

I’ve done three gearbox R&R’s on RX-7’s:
1) On a hoist, with a mate, in workshop. Highly recommended...
2) In a garage with a pit, and a mate. Not as good as hoist, but better than...
3) Up 18” off the ground on four stands, with a mate, lying on our backs, swapping his 1st Gen racecar’s busted ‘box 30 minutes before a race! PITA.
Seriously, I wouldn’t do it without an assistant. The ‘boxes are heavy and you never know what might happen. Normal tools are all that’s required unless you’re removing the flywheel.
