helping friend - once again, coolant buzzer goes off at low rpm

Well basically helping out my friend once again! I was driving it around to see wut is the problem. The coolant like buzzer comes on low rmp and at idle. Once the car reach 2500rpm or higher the buzzer turns off. I check the reservior tank and filled coolant. Also i notice his reservior tank level always changes everytime he starts his car or drive it. It went from low to high to overfill to empty.

Open Radiator Cap

Start Car

Run Until Air Bubbles Stop Boiling Out Of Cap

Close Radiator Cap

Top Off Fluid At Elbow Above Water Pump

Check it out...the only way coolant can go to or from the resevoir is the pressure bypass valve on the cap on top of the radiator, so if coolant goes to and from the resevoir, you probably have a bad cap, my reccomendation: replace cap, or if you want to be legit about it you could pressure test it but its a 3 dollar part so you should probably just replace it.

P.S........your motor is blown.........i'll give you $100 for it.

is not my car is my friend. I ran a compression check on it, is not blown. Also i know the coolant seals are still good, no signs of smoking during start up.

I posted about this before I think, It worked for me.
Unscrew the Sencor in the front black coolent tub.
This will take all the air out of the car and when you put it back on add more threw the radiator cap, run the car for a bit and the buzzer stoped going off for me, I had to do this after I did a Coolent flush, the buzzer hasn't been on since.
try that, it worked for me.

You need to find where you're losing coolant. If it's dripping externally it's pretty simple to find. Common places are caps, hoses, water pump, thermostat neck. If you can't find an external leak, you're losing it inside.

Make sure your coolant is 100% topped off. Fill the radiator to the top. Cap it. Remove the hose/T-neck cap. Fill to the top. Cap it. You can also use the "air bleed screw" on the top left of the radiator to remove air pockets... you don't have to turn it very much.

Poor man's coolant seal check... with engine cool, remove your EGI fuse, remove your radiator cap. Have a friend crank the ignition while you watch for bubbles from the radiator. There shouldn't be any. If there are, you have a coolant seal problem.

im not loosing coolant, but the coolant reservior tank level is constantly changing.
From full as in the whole reservior over flows to half full to empty to like full again.

ok the situation is the same after i finished bleeding it. Does an empty subzero tank cause the add coolant light n buzzer to go off?
Also how do you remove the sub zero tank, also what additional parts are needed

subzero tank is not related to the cooling system

I had the same problem and it turned out to be a cracked thermostat neck ( the piece that goes from the UPPER radiator HOSE to the BLOCK).

Still sounds to me like there are air bubbles sitting right on that sensor. This same thing just happened to my car, right after I changed the water pump. Had a bad clamp on the upper rad hose, so I just replaced the hose and clamps. For a day or two, I'd occasionally get the coolant buzzer at idle or on cloverleafs. When I'd stop, I'd just top off a little coolant until it stopped. I wouldn't be too worried, unless you have steam coming out of your exhaust or something. Then worry.

This is my next step of taking critical action:
Flush the radiator if that fails
replace pressure cap and sensor
if that fails
im going to cut the wire that making the buzzer sound.

dood, go to your local mechaninc and have them do a coolant system pressure check.....they remove the radiator cap, put oon another cap with a pump at the end and pump it a couple of times the coolant will begin to squirt out of wherever there is a leak......when I checked my car 3 little sprays of water shot out from the thermostat neck........

CUT the coolant warning WIRE?????are you retarded?

That would be the last resort if we did everything including a rebuild.
the buzzer not the light!

DON'T kill your buzzers dude. As annoying as they may be, they save your motor. I caught an oil leak because I heard the oil buzzer go off for a split second as I took a corner... I would have never noticed the light that briefly and I was about to take an 800 mile round trip in a couple days. Luckily it was just something really minor.

Fix the problem, don't kill the buzzer. Replace the radiator cap, bleed the air out of the system, and if that doesn't work get it pressure tested.
