help you guys. large turbo with stock injectors?

so i was told that my car had 1000cc injectors when i got it. im not sure how i can tell. the colors arent the same as the stock injector colors but i got a new turbo and intercooler. im running a walbaro fuel pump and a microtech ecu. its a garrett t60-1 with hks manifold and 38mm wastegate. if a take a 7lbs spring and put it in there. will it be safe to start just enough for me to plug in the laptop to tune it. i was told the stock injectors will support up to 440hp at 100% but i only want to run 85% to be safe. will my stock injectors at 85% hold 7psi of boost on a larger turbo. long enough for me to get larger injectors? if anyone can tell me how to tell what size the injectors are that would be great. part number ect...

thanks
roger

are you running just the stock ECU or do you have a piggyback or standalone?

I wouldn't boost until you KNOW the size of the injectors. I don't see why you couldn't start the car as is.

Anyone here know how to tell the flow rate of injectors besides removing them and sending them to be flow tested?

I'm not sure if there is an easier way than this(probably is) but you could always send the injectors somewhere to have them cleaned/flow tested...wouldn't they tell you the size of the injectors as part of the report? I think they did that when i sent mine to RC Engineering...but I already knew what they were.

you can usually take the part number off the side and type it into google....

BUT

some injectors are bored out, so typing the number into google doesnt give you the right answer.

ME, i have a wideband and i'm lazy, i'd just start tuning....

send them to rc or witchhunter to be safe. no reason to risk blowing a motor. having them cleaned and tested isnt expensive.

60-1 will easily max out those 1000ccs anyway.

FWIW, on a streetport engine on a stock turbo with stock injectors duty cycle is at 100% at 12psi.

if you go to rx7.com, click on products, go to fuel system and the little paragraph for the introduction is actually were i got the idea of stock injectors holding 450 hp so talk to those guys lol. anyways. im actually buying 1680cc injectors in about two weeks. i just basically wanted to know if i started the car with a 7lbs spring in the wastegate and tuned the stock injectors as far as i can if they'll last for two weeks. not hammering on the motor of coarse. as soon as the injectors get here im tunning the motor. as for the size of the injectors the only reason i question it is that in the thread on this site i found something that tells the colors of stock in jectors, tan, red ect. and mine are bright red, i believe that the stock color is purple

What size injectors does my RX-7 use? What colour are they?
Year Engine Plug Size Colour Part #
84-85 13B NA, low square center, 680cc, orange, 195500-0900
86-87 13B NA, low square center, 460cc, red, 195500-1350
86-87 13B Turbo, low square center, 550cc, tan, 195500-1370
88 13B NA, high square offset, 460cc, purple, 195500-1350
88 13B Turbo, high square offset, 550cc, purple, 195500-1370
89-91 13B NA, high oval center, 460cc, red, 195500-2010
89-91 13B Turbo, high oval center, 550cc, purple, 195500-2020

i think im going to send them somewhere to be flowtested. thanks alot you guys. if anyone has anymore info just let me know
