Help! It won't start!
So I picked up my girlfriend at the store yesterday...
A few people were checking out tha car and all
And so we both hopped in, and when I went to turn it over....
NOTHING happened! Thats tha first time my 7's ever done that!
So I got out and wiggled the battery cables and looked for anything I might have left on, and then tried again... still nothing.
So I figured I would try to roll it off. So I rolled it back off the hill, and then it started to go forward downhill. So I popped the clutch and it fired right up!
So I drove home with no problems, and once I got home, I turned it off and tried to start it again. And, it wouldn't.
Any suggestions as to what is going wrong?
Thanks everybody!

Turn the headlight on. THEN turn the key to START. IF the lights stay bright then it's not a battery terminal problem.
IF that's the case, AND you do not hear a click sound when you go to the START position, I'd say you've lost the circuit b/t the ignition key and the starter solenoid. IT goes from the ignition switch, thru a INTERLOCK switch on the clutch pedal, into the engine bay and thru a Starter Cut Relay (if you have theft protection) then to the starter solenoid.
IF no click when going to start, you might suspect the interlock switch on the clutch pedal. There are two switches on that pedal. The LOWER one IS NOT the interlock switch. The one waaaaay up at the top IS. You could find the electrical pig tail that goes to that switch and unplug it. Then jumper the two sockets on the harness side to simulate the switch being made. THEN go to start and see if anything happens.
OR you could lift the Trail coil assy up and out of the way, and if the car has no factory theft protection, find the bright BLUE jumper connector on a plug under that coil assy area. Pull the BLUE plug off. Get a piece of wire about two feet long and bare each end. PUt one end in the plug where you remove the blue jumper. PUt it in the socket where there is a black/white wire. THEN with the car in neutral, put the other end of that wire to the batt positive post. The starter should engage proving there is no starter problem.

well now, it starts 2 out of 3 times I go to start it up.
so I guess i've got a corroded wire or loose one somewhere in there.
I'll check them tomorrow.
for now, i'm parking it at the top of the driveway, and kicking it off if i really have to drive it
oh yea-
ya know how once the car is started, and you turn the key over and the starter makes a bad sound-
yea well mine does it half the time...
so thats y i figure theres a bad conenction.
anyways... thanks!
