HELP! Wires on fire!!!!
alright so i went to rotary resurection and looked up the tech article about grounds. So we got the ground from the postive post of the battery to the alternator then negative battery post to the strut tower then we tried to put on another ground from the positive battery terminal to the positive side of the starter and the wire melted... where can i attach the positve on the starter without the wire melting?? thanks for the help

It's supposed to go to the big wire terminal on the solenoid.
There's only two wires going into the starter - the big one is the main power, and the thin one is the switched signal from the ignition switch.
Remember, the entire case of the starter is ground, and it grounds through the case into the engine.

Please, please, please get your terminology right.
A wire is *not* a ground if it is hooked to the positive side of the battery. Call it a "power lead" (or other similar term).
The "ground" in most cars is the chassis and hooked to the negative battery terminal.
A wire should not "melt" under any circumstances - it sounds like you hooked the positive battery terminal to the chassis ground at the starter, essentially shorting it. If this was the case, you may need to replace your battery very soon.
Good luck,
