my car was running fine till I turned it off, then the next day, bam, the car wont turn on. I dont here the starter clicking either. In the past I had alot of problems with the key ignition switch, since I had to jingel the keys to get the car on, now, not even that works. can anyone can help me with this.....

When you turn the key on, does anything at all happen?

Did you check to make sure you have juice going to the starter? You have to have a good current to the starter to begin with or it's all pointless. Jiggling your keys and what not probably had very little to do with your progressing problem. I'm going to lean on either your signal or power cables are fouled.

i thought mine was messed up as well, thought i had a short in my ignition switch or something.,.. turns out i just have to press the clutch pedal ALL THE WAY to the floor. if it is even a tiny bit off the floor the starter does not turn.

try that

No, its doubtful that your engine is dead. If the engine was dead (locked up) you would at least hear the starter engaging. It could be your clutch/neutral safety switch (manual/auto), your wiring, or your starter. A little basic troubleshooting will find the problem. There is no reason to take it to the shop.

Look in the FSM (factory service manual) and see what color the wire is that goes into the engine compartment to trigger your starter. Run a wire from your + battery terminal to that wire and the starter should crank (make sure your car is out of gear FIRST). If it doesnt, then you either have a bad starter/cylinoid, bad engine ground, or bad +battery cable going to your starter. This test will rule out your key, and any safety switches.

If your starter cranks fine when you give 12v+ to the starter wire, then you have a problem with your ignition, or one of the safety switches.

Did you check the fuses in the engine compartment to make sure they were still good?

Oh yeah, another thing to try... Put the car in gear with the parking brake off, and rock the car back and forth. If the starter gear got hung up on the flywheel, rocking the car will usually release it.

wow, you guys rock with all that info. I will so look into all these problems. I did mash the clutch all the way down. I almost did a Fred Flintstone hahaha. since I am a martial arts instructor, i put that peddel as far as any man can. I am not to car savy thats why I though of the shop, since the shop owners son goes to school and all. I will check the wire jump and will sooo rock the car back and forth, I did notice that son A-hole while parking moved my car, and since its always in gare, maybe that had something to do with it. thanks again fellas.
