Question Help, Turbo Exhaust Leak

Have a 1990 RX7 TurboII, That developed what appears to be a exhaust leak in the turbo area. The vehicle has 70,100 miles since new . Need some sound advice as to what direction I should take to resolve the problem. Just happened yesterday. Started out with a slight ticking sound on start up and has become much louder. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

have you located the leak exactly where it is? if so is it in the dp or the manifold?if it is the dp then replace it with an rb or an hks one. if it is the manifold then you can find one at junkyard or online for aftermarket ones check the threads on the first page.

take a bucket of water, put a bit of anykind of dish soap you find around the house and splash some on all of the seams, anywhere where the leak could possibly be, take it one area at a time and run the engine. Check for bubbles coming from any of the seams and theres your problem. and.... its a tII..... get used to leaks lol.

Water and soap won't help with an exhaust leak.... it will just evaporate the stuff as soon as it hits.

I've got a similar exhaust leak, the guys at gotham said it is pretty common for TII's... It's between the turbo and the exhaust manifold, they said the only way to fix it is to machine both receivers about 1/100th of an inch to re-seat them.... they quoted me 500 bucks!!!!

if that is all you need machined go to a machine shop with the specs for the machining and they would do it for alot cheaper than 500 bucks?!?!?!?!
