Hello, i have a 91 TII transmission, i just received it today. Upon inspecting it, i noticed two holes in the front transmission cover. (looking at it from the front) the right side has a hole for the starter. On the left side is another hole but rather a square rectangular hole. Can someone tell me what belongs there?

 

that rectangular hole is like an air vent... lets air in or out .. i dunno. my NA tranny has the same hole...

 

I didn't pay attention to my NA tranny when i took it out, so this is good to know. Thanks!

 

Yep, there's also a small hole at the bottom where nothing belongs (you can see it in the pic, in the middle at the bottom).
