help throttle body and idle problem

i have a spare throttle body that i am looking at right now and i have tried to adjust the idle many times with no results i have searched this forum and have read about everyone of them. in the hayens it says to use a single jumper wire in the two prong green plug by the primary ignitor, then adjust the screw on the top of the tb that didnt work. i have read the forum about the tps i know what it is and i am looking at my spare tb and i can see that you can adjust the screw on the side and that will move the tps. so is that what i need to do to change idle is the screw by the tps.
thank you,
ryan

First you need to adjust your mechanical idle (with the initial set coupler jumpered, and no electrical loads on the engine), and get it set where it needs to be, then worry about setting your TPS to the 1 volt output...

Usually if it seems that nothing is happening when the idle adjust screw is turned, the BAC valve is still energized and "fighting" you. Either the correct plug is not jumpered, or something is screwy...

can the tps itself be bad because i put on a new tb with a few more things on it. my old one that i am looking at was stripped down, only having three butterflies didnt have the two vacuum lines and the thing that two coolant lines connect to. when the old tb was on it would rev to 3k then idle at 2k and would be able to go all the way up to redline. with to newer tb with more things on it the car starts up when it wants (about once every 30mins) and i have to hold the pedel to keep it from shuting off, if i can get it to start. also when i put the new tb on it wont rev past 3500k. i think im gonna install the old tb on tomorrow and see what happens

wayne thanks for trying to answer all of my questions i know i have alot of them
