help: Starting problems

The engine is cranking over well(fast, not slowly). The battery voltage is 12.42, but it wont start. I cleaned the battery terminal connections.
The car started right after I cleaned the battery terminals after I parked it once, it cranked but it didnt start.
Has anyone had this problem before?
