help someone

my car ran out of gas in my 88 non turbo rx-7.....when i put gas into it...it wont start....i changed the spark plugs coz someone told me that if gas got on the plugs then it would be fouled out, it still did not start...i was not driving....it was parked in my driveway.....i started it this morning to move it and now it just wont start....please let me know what to do.....

You may have burnt out the fuel pump, as the fuel pump needs gas to cool it.

i second that, did you put a jumper wire to prime the system? its a long shot, but it may work, but i doubt it

the junper is the female two inlet reciever next to the passenger side shock tower, and the afm. Its just kind of hanging there. You can find it in the Haynes manual.

if i had a manual that could of been a good idea...i knew i should of got one....this is my 1st rotary....only 3 weeks old

Yeah. The manual would be a very good investment for ya man. It has helped me out alot. Same with the factory service manual. Good stuff.

how do i prime the systemmmmthere are two wire hanging there...blue and yellow.....which one is it

Yellow. Use a paper clip to jumper the two leads on that connector, then go turn the ignition on. Look for leaks!!!!!

Do you have fuel pressure? Is the pump running? Check for 12V at the connector on the pump, if you have 12V, then the pump may have died, running in tank fuel pumps dry usually kills them from overheating (they use the fuel to cool them down)

i used a jumper and i heard the humming of the fuel pump...i think i may have fouled the plugs out by trying to start it over and over....do you think i should change them out.....i smelt gas from the exhaust

Oh, then yeah.. Search on flooding here in the 2nd gen forum, there's a few techniques on clearing that.

ive looked at most or all of them ithink on this topic....i tested the sytem by putting a paper clip in the yellow thing located on the passenger side of the car....i tried resetting the puter.....the only thhing i have not done which seems to work in most cases is tampering with the fuel pump....where is it and how do i do this....

i changed the plugs out and it was drenched in fuel....so i put the old dry ones back in and it still wont start....they were new plugs(the old ones).....how do i do the fuel pump thing
