Help!! S5 N/A people

Please take a minute to help me.

I need to know where these conectors go to. I am unable to post a pic here so I added a link.

Pic 1: Driver side, ECU harness, 3rd plug from the end/bigining.

Pic 2: Driver side, Alternator harness towards the tranny ( I believe it is a ground for the starter but don't know where it goes).

Thanks for your time.

Steve

1) AWS valve, looks to be removed in this pic. Leave it unplugged.

2) appears to be the connector for the little black ground condensor that usually attatches under one of the slave cyl mounting bolts. This is a non essential to the engine running, but can affect gauge readings supposedly

Sorry for jacking this, but I thought that it went down toward the transmission area or somthing. BTW I was referring to #2 that kevin responded to. I will look more into that because my temp gauge doesn't work and that connector is unplugged and I can't find the other end of it.

Check your temp sending unit wire, under the oil filter, under the brass mushroom shaped oil pressure sending unit...that finger sticking out sideways from the block is the temp sending unit. The wire that goes to it is yellow and red.

I couldn't wait so I checked on the AWS and you were right (pic 1). It came out when I removed the rats nest.

On Pic 2. It came lose/broke when I was removing the starter (at least that is when I noticed it). It is sigle wire, black in color.

Yeah, I think that #2 is the condensor as Kevin mentioned. If so, it should be on the driver's side firewall -- right at the point where the firewall turns into the tranny tunnel. Little 'black box' looking thing. If you broke it, the wire just came off that black box. Kevin mentioned you might not need it, I can't comment on that. But if the wire is broke off, you probably will either have to run w/o it or replace it. I don't think there is a way to fix it.

Ok, the black wire goes to a little square box on the starter. It is a seal box so I will have to try to soder it were it was. A pain to get to and not much left to soder to.

Thanks again "Rotary Resurection", "inflatablepets" and "Trav", I owe you guys one.

Nah, you wont be able to solder it. Just get another from a partscar, any 86-91 has them.

Damn, I'm good
