Help plz FC wont start

ok so heres the story. I was driving home from work about a week ago, and i get pulled over by the damn cops. No big deal he was just mad i didnt have a front lincense plate. Anyway, while im waiting for him to write out a warning my car is idling and just dies..quits..so i look down at the guages and first thing i think is..im such a retard i ran out of gas. So i walk home and get the gas can and fill up my car about 3 gallons worth, give or take. I try to start the car..it just cranks no firing....so i think maybe i didnt put enough gas, i walk back home and get more gas and put in another 2 or three gallons. Still no start up. So i tow the car home the next day and start checking things out. eventually i come to the fuel pump isnt clicking when i turn the key over..so i pull it out and test it..no good. Then i went and bought a walbro 255 for the car..part of an upcoming turbo project...btw this is a 86 non turbo rx7.

I get the new pump and install it..still no start i jump the battery off of my buick roadmaster...cranks and still no start. So i test the spark, compression and fuel. Its getting gas, compression was about 100psi on both ports. (top spark plug holes.) I pull off the wires and check to see if they are firing, my grandmother cranks the car while i check them one by one..all of the wires are firing. OK...maybe plugs. I swapped out the plugs with another FC that i have as a parts car. still not starting. So i figured the plugs in my other car are bad too cause they are kinda old. So i test all of the plugs with a nut a bolt and attach the ignition wire to it. All of the plugs are firing..as in i can see spark on each one. Im just about at the end of my rope here and i cant think of anything else to check, other than i think im going to go ahead and buy new plugs just to be sure, ill update tomarrow if they made a difference. The car cranks and every once in a while it will fire once but not start. Im wondering if maybe my Crank Angle sensor is out or my tps or MAF but im not sure. any help or ideas would be awesome. Oh and my car is running off of an SAFC II at the moment but still runs the stock fuel settings i just installed it to be used later on down the line when i go turbo. Also the car cranks over very quickly so im not sure if i dont have bad compression on one apex seal and im not getting good compression on all three sides of the rotor. Also this engine or at least the block and internals only have about 6000 miles on them because they were all rebuilt at mazda recently by the previous owner..i even have the reciept. Again any ideas would be hella helpful. Maybe im missing something...probably something stupid know me but ya...please help

Have you checked to see if it's flooded?

Also, a Walbro 255 is nothing but trouble for a currently N/A car.

im not sure if its flooded, if i pull the plugs out they smell of gas but i figured that was normal because its not starting and is getting a lot of gas. How would i check to see if it is flooded?...probably a stupid question...

Are you plugs wet? I'm guessing yes.

yeah they are wet, but not extremely wet, and they dont reek of gas u gotta get a good whif of one to smell it, that and i sprayed intake cleaner into the throttle body so thats on the plugs too. Im gonna do some more tinkering with it today ill post whatever i find.

Yeah....but you're probably going to continue having that problem. The 255 is pushing too hard against the stock n/a pressure regulator.

found the problem today, fuel pump relay went out, replaced it and the car started...although now its super fat rich cause of the 255, you guys think i could just turn back the fuel on my SAFC to balance it out for now, cause i am planning on installing a turbo just as soon as i get some bigger injectors and oil lines.

No because your not running a wideband. You should go back to the OEM Fuel pump. Then when you go turbo use the Walbro. The safc is not gonna be affective without a wideband. The stock afm's in even the s4 N/A are pure trash.

figured it was the pump, i was just going to suggest checking for voltage at the pump, the wetness was probably from the carb cleaner.
