From what I can see, starting from the stock 16 x 7-40 offset, the front wheels will move out 11mm or .429"
The rear wheels-outside will move 16mm or .624" towards the fender, inner will be 10mm less or .39"
Measure the distance or place a jack under lower control arm, and raise slightly off the ground. Move the wheel out the amount and see if any problems, etc.

I thought you wanted like a 35mm in front? Thats what I've always been told for like 8" wide rims.

So, for the front am I going to need a spacer?? So, is the rule of thumb the wider the wheel the less offset is needed? I am pretty bent on getting these wheels...but if the front 16x7 +29 wont fit...what shall I do?

USE THIS!!!!
http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html
As I stated earlier the front wheels will move OUT towards the fender. If you use a spacer, you'll put the wheels/tires into the fenders.

Judging by the offset calculator, your golden. You've got plenty of room in the rear for the 8", but they will jut out an extra 16mm which should be fine.

Since the fronts are 7" your should be ok. Since it gives you an extra 11 mm on the inside you may be able to go bigger than 205's in regards to tires. I wonder if 225's would fit on the front then? Might need a spacer?

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure he will be hitting the fender. you don't have 11mm of space..

stock is 16x7 40mm. I'm running 225 and it's very close to both fender and shock. I wouldn't want to move it either direction.

Ya I know, but wouldn't the same offset work with rims that aren't as wide?

no. if you change the width. you need to change the offset by 1/2 as much as the width change... 1" wider rim. change the offset by 1/2" which is around 15mm I think?

this is why offset sucks as posted above. backspace is much easier.

that's puts the extra inch on one side of the rim. instead of adding 1/2" to each side.

im trying to figure out my problem with this also...i am considering an 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 in the rear. both are 35 offset. will this rub anything? or can i run a really low profile tire and have it clear? what is your advice on this?

Use the calculator from the web site I posted. 8.5" 35 offset will move the wheels 14 mm closer to the strut, outside additional 24 mm. In other words wheel will be 9/16" closer to strut, tire will hit, outside will be @ 15/16" closer to fender.

The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 24mm" what the **** does that tell me? My brain doesnt work in mm...

Thought I'd better add:
multiply mm times .0393701 to obtain inches.
Or if brain doesn't want to function, use this:

guys, I am planning on running FD(50mm offset I believe) wheels on my FC. I was wondering if I should get 15mm or 25mm spacers? and also where can I purchase the spacers and longer studs for it??? TIA

Im guessing the 25mm, it would get you closer to stock than the 15mm...I would GUESS. But, Im still stuck on whether or not my new wheels are gonna hit the fender or not!!!! ROAR, I would like to know before I buy them...I am not trying to be difficult, really Im not!!! I just want a solid, YES or NO..I have used the calculator and it doesnt tell me ****..I just wanna know..will a 16x7 with a +29mm offset with a 225/50/16 HIT the fender OR the strut??????
