HELP!! Noob buying a 87 rx7
Hi,
I'm kinda new to rx7's so bear with me. The car in question is a 1987 non turbo rx7 with 128XXX miles and the 13b engine. Price is $800 although he can go to 5or 6 depending on timeframe. The clutch is gone though. My question is how much to repair the clutch including cost of a new one as well as any other things I should worry about before committing. Thanks guys.

Same with my car. $700, burnt clutch. Funnest thing i've ever done in my life.
With a couple of buddys, you can hange the clutch yourself if you have the tools. If you're real cheap like me you can by a remanned clutch for $110 from Napa, and 3 bottles of tranny fluid for about $15. My cars clutch got worn down to the rivets and i had to tow it home though, it wore out a little bit of a bore on the clutch, but it was still in spec. Turning the flywheel was $25 from napa.
If it's sat for a while you'll need to do other work to it, or if its been englected (someone letting the clutch go completely is kinda neglecting it) I'd say belts and hoses fuel filter and sock, and all fluids, and you should be ok. Might need an alternator at that age though.
