Wink Help With Noise

Stupid question...but maybe NOT!.....from 20 to 55 miles an hour my car sounds like it's whistling....when you rev it up..you can hear the whistle....does this sound like my belts need belt dressing?

Do you have a turbo? If so, that whistle is normal. It's the turbo spooling up. If not, make sure that your windows are cranked all the way up, you might have an air leak... Now, that would be for a "whistle". A "squeal" would be more along the lines of belts, but that usually happens at lower speeds.

Whistle....but I think it's either my first or second converter....or both could be clogged...the sound only happens when I hit the accelerator!

Do you have a turbo hood by any chance? I know someone who had an N/A with a TII hood and it will whistle. That is before he threw a TII engine in it!
