shouls i stick to my 88- se ........ is it a good idea.........

also... my shifter is wobblely wats wrong with it?????????

buy some new bushings for the shifter.....make a HUGE difference.

they're about $20 from your local dealer. Basic tools will do the job

The SE is pretty much the 'base' FC, making it the lightest... So that's one benefit of the SE.

I've got an SE that treated me quite well while it was still alive...

Well, if it had no sunroof, then I'd agree!

I don't want to turn this into a 4-lug brakes versus 5-lug brakes debate.

5 lug opens up a lot more options for aftermarket stuff. Other than, I'm not sure on the benifits.
As for keeping the car, it depends. My car is an '87 Base, and I love it. To be fair, the previous owner was crazy and replaced basically everything with parts from a Turbo model. If you have the time to put on an LSD and maybe do the 5-lug conversion, then go for it. Other than that, it just depends on how much you want to do with the car.
