I honestly like the car too much to get rid of her. I love the looks and the power. Sure, I dont know a lot about cars but I can drive. What makes a good driver? Put me behind the wheel and I'll show the! lol yup, dumping the money. ALTERNATOR (core) $49.95, Battery $49.95, Starter $59.95 - Are these even good prices?

Well, I wouldn't touch a pep boys, advanced auto parts, autozone refurbished alternator with a 10 foot pole. I have seen way too many fail.

You want to keep the car an invest money?

-Look into a factory new\refurbished 3rd gen alternator (more amps).

-Battery, can't think of any good battery for $50

-Starters? Same deal as with the alternator.

I am buying everything (well, bought) everything new with warranty from autozone - I replaced all of the BELTS, ALTERNATOR and STARTER.

I think buying a FACTORY 3rd GEN ALTERNATOR is a good idea. The starter, MSD IGNITION (can't beat MSD) and the new belts are fine from AUTOZONE. All come with a warranty. I've got the basics done and I'M NOT GOING TO QUIT.

- New NGK SPARK PLUGS & WIRES
- NEW FUEL FILTER
- OIL CHANGE w/FILTER
- BELTS
- STARTER
- BATTERY
- MSD IGNITION
----------------------------
VMB - I would love to put us both in equal cars (DODGE NEONS would be fine) and blow you off the track! Which racing school did you go too? Hmmmm..

In any event, the rest of you thanks for the input. I REFUSE TO QUIT ON THIS PROJECT. I'm going to finish it and then post pics.

I must admit the post is funny. But I figured you would want to stick with your RX7... VMB, do you have a 3rd GEN?

Any old car is going to give you some trouble, RX-7's do seem to have more than the average Japenese car however. As far as the rotary engine goes, I refer to it as "black magic". The feel, sounds and performance of one can not be matched. I am a fair mechanic, but I am intimitdated by the complexities of my TII. Without this forum, I would really be lost. I am happy to see that despite your criticism of RX-7 and it's rotary that most of the respondents kept their responses positive and helpful. Hope you do not give up on your car, I really feel they are worth the trouble.

<turbocajun> Your 100% right. Everyone was cool. I think they knew that I was just talking out of my *** because I was pist off. I was more mad that I was trying to get it running at the MBTA parking lot till nearly midnight and it was only 30 below 0 degrees!

I am not going to quit on the car. Like I said, I am going to finish this project, post some pics and turn some heads
