Well folks, I am right smack in the middle of my exhaust swap (RB collected header/Bonz Hi-flo-Hi Temp cat/Rotary Performance Budget cat-back) and in the packaging I have everything for the install EXCEPT the block to header gasket. Where can I get one ASAP? It's 6:20 pm on Sat. I already tried the big 3 (Kragen, Pep Boys, and Autozone) and they would have to order it. The dealer parts counter is already closed. What to do now? I want to have this system installed no later than tomorrow night. Any suggestions?

As a temp solution, you can buy high temp gasket sheets. You'd have to cut it out to shape (which would be a PIA). I would only consider this as a bandaid, so go ahead and order the replacement.. otherwise, is the old one in bad shape?

 

autozone, part # 60025, i have the bonez system too, they eat gaskets, lol.

 

I would rather install a new one now instead of having to re-install another one later. The old gasket is not THAT bad, but I still do not have any faith in it's strength.
Donuts are another story. I am going to re-use the old ones until I can get the new ones. I do have a budget.

 

screw gaskets...i went without one for a while until i bought one to put in...its not that bad

 

usually you can reuse the compressed-metal exhaust block-to-header gasket an infinite number of times, mine's probably been reused 10+ times now and has no leaks nor looks any worse for wear... I'd just reuse that old one.

 

If the old gasket is "bubbling" up then gasses have gotten into it and compromised it's integrity. If it's relatively smooth you can reuse it again.

 

I hope to god you use a gasket on the header. Or just put off installing the exhaust until you can get one in stock.

On a Sunday, very doubtful. Just wait and it will be worth it.

 

U could try to use an old gaskets and apply sum high-temp gasket maker/sealer on both sides of the gasket and use that for now (?_?)

 

decided to wait. Ordered the gasket and I want to swap out the donuts with new. Actually I reused the cat back donuts (I installed the catback portion). I have to exercise patience, so I am going to do it right the first time. Only negative so far about the RP catback is that the paint on the canisters is crap. I'm gunna havta hit it with some better stuff. Other than that, so far so good. Although I did flubb hanging the driver side and the canister fell on my nose. DAMMMMMMMMMMMMMNNNNNN!!!!!! That hella hurts!
