help me spend my money
I have an '87 TII and $1,000.00 to start mods with. The car is stock now. I think the cats are stopped up so I want a downpipe and hiflo cat, what's next. Tell me about your mods and what I want to do first.

FIRST, make sure the car is in good shape... change ALL fluids, tune it up, etc.
For $1000, here is how ***I*** would mod it... you may do things differently.
I would have an exhaust MADE... cheaper than buying one. I spent a total of about $300 on mine. 3" single all the way back.
A cone intake, about $75 for a generic filter and an HKS adapter.
Build a FCD- about $10 for parts.
Bigger fuel pump- about $150
KYB AGX struts- can be found for about $370 shipped.
That's $895. If you can cough up another $200, get a S-AFC.

The car is in great shape, good oil pressure and compression. She is all stock now. I'm thinking about the cone filter, full exhaust and fcd. Here in Oklahoma we dont have a inspection to deal with, so running with no cats is not a problem for me. How much hp gain would these mods give me over the stock 180. Do you think I would be in the 250 range? What about a front mount intercooler from a '91 mx-6, would I gain anything?
