HELP ME!!! or shoot me, one or the other!
Still in search of the damn vac leak. Tonight I did the following:
-replaced vac hoses (which were already new)
-replaced brake booster vac line
-took apart and added sealant to the spacer between the UIM and the TB
-sealed the elbow on the TB
-put on ACCEL 8.8 race wires (which helped greatly at top speeds)
-swapped AFMs
-inspected TID and BAC
Car still jumps from 1200-1600 over and over and over...
Someone please give me a clue, where is this vac leak? im only pulling 6-7 inches of vac on the boost gauge!! Its driving me nuts!!!

You might try spraying a little starting fluid around the manifold and vacuum lines.
The RPMs should change slightly when the starting fluid is sucked in through the leak.
That should narrow the area of the leak down a little more

Your high idle points to a throttle body problem. Either the throttle cable/cruise cable is adjusted too tight, or you need to adjust the throttle stops on the TB to make sure it's closed.
If the TB isn't closed when you set the TPS, that will result in an incorrect setting of the TPS and a jumpy idle.
That's odd you are pulling such low vacuum - double-check the vacuum hose to your boost gauge.

OK, when im idling the vac is between 6-7 with the revs. when im deccelerating...its at 12. Also, when I unhook the tps the idle raises to 3k or more. The TPS ohmed out fine, could it still be bad somehow?
I cant get the idle to lower either, it is constantly now going from 1200-1700 over and over, which makes it quite annoying as my car is LOUD!

Easiest way to check the throttle body is to pull it off and shine a light behind it - look for cracks of light coming through the throttle plates.
Is your motor good? That vacuum is REALLY low - I would suspect, if your motor is good, that you've got a faulty vacuum line going to your boost gauge. If you have a Guess-O-Meter gauge with one of those crappy compression fitting setups, ditch it for a better connection - those things are a headache.

dc, Ill try that with the light, the engine is BRAND new (3k miles)
Nick, I unplugged it and it didnt make a difference. Im gonna go ahead and get rid of it.
EDIT: I just got back from a wedding rehearsal, I drove the TII. Idle now sits rock solid at 1300 and vac is at 12 inches now!! What gives??
I think someone screws with it when Im not around. Im afraid if I lower the idle its gonna die out now...DAMN IT!
why oh why do I love these cars

3 vacuum lines will be on my car. All of the rest will be capped off. And wherever vacuum line meets metal, there will be a tight-assed zip-tie. I can only HOPE I have none of these problems!
