MD HELP me and my poor 7

Well I'm not going to lie i kind of neglected her with all the snow in the area plus i thought I had lost the key but I'm not here to make excuses. So I went out a minute ago to try to start her up, fight couple times nothing happens, then i press the gas a little and she starts, very weak however. So as I usually do when she starts weak, I give her some gas. But instead of doing her normal 2500 rpm bump she starts revving and doesnt stop. Mind you by the point smoke is pouring out of the exhaust and the cat, I turned her off because i didnt want it to rev to redline. So I try it again and the same thing happens. I let her sit for probably for 6 weeks. Any ideas? Please Help!!!

The high idle after start could be due to problems with the AWS, or the fast idle cam. The AWS is supposed to kick it up to 3000 rpm or so for 17 sec after start; if you blip the throttle once, it should drop back down to 1500 or so, and then down to 750 after it warms up.

I would also check the throttles directly and see that they really are closed when you are off the pedal.

Yeah, i remember when she used to start she would bump to around 2500 for about 20 seconds then go down to about 1000-750, I'm goin give it another shot today. beyond that how can i check to see if the throttle cable is stuck? or for that matter check the throttle directly....I'm a pretty big noob with my 7 if you couldnt tell haha.

the AFM flap door could be stuck also.. but i would check the throttle cable first. if you can't find them in the FSM. call a tow truck and take it to a shop.
