my suggestion is " sell it and get a s13 "
s13 are the new civic ( but are much more mad JDM tYtEE)
Please don't bastarfie a rx7, if you wanna drift it thats cool, I do mine on a weekly basis,
but your number 1 priority should be all around balance.

You can find a nice s14 with 8K, a little more and you can find one "drift ready" and sr20 swapped. Get a 240sx, you'll thank yourself when you actually start to drift.

the cheapest I've found a front clip (and this is with a local hookup) is 1600. I havnt checked into prices on a full imported car. But i dont see why that couldnt be an option.
Why RHD? Because the cars ive driven that are RHD I've loved, It feels infinitly more comfortable for me. Is it practical? nope. As for the saftey of it. You may be right.
Its like this. The first time i saw a rx7 i was 6 years old, I wanted it very badly. Got my first one (a 86 GXL) and fell in love with it. Then got my second 90 gxl and love it even more. recently drove a RHD swapped rx7 and it felt perfect.
My friend whos an awesome mechanic told me he'd do the whole swap for me for 400. Ive seen his work, no question he can do it with no problems.
Im not doing this sort of work to my car so i can be "mad tyte jDm yO" I could care less. im not putting some flashy body kit on my car. I enjoy drifting, and i have been for over 2 and a half years. The only places i drift are at my friends shop (since he has a very large open parking lot). And Im starting to get into rally cross(seperate car obviously) and Drift events. Street raceing...Im not dragging from stop light to stop light. Thats what i did 4 years ago, and beleive me, im done paying uncle sam to drive like an idiot. But, i do enjoy driving with friends and ocasionaly pulling in 3rd or 4th gear on the freeway. I understand its illeagal, but its not as if im attempting to do this in rushhour traffic. And all of that is not the reason i made this thread, although i do enjoy opinions and input from everybody.
So you say a street port wouldnt be a good idea on a daily driven car. ok. then i can cross this off my list.
Goals. Here are my goals as far as power. I would like to be in the 300-375 RWHP range. Is this atainable(sp?) for a daily driven car? In my price range?

I think they are $42, so you're saving money there.

2) Get a bunch of metric spacers and space the steering rack 1/4" each side.
This does the same thing as those $70 spacers.
You've saved liker $69 right there.
3) Learn how to drive.
If you don't know how to drive, you cannot learn to drift.
I dunno what your driving experience is, but most wannabe drifters don't have enough track experience to understand drifting.
How about we start with these first and then work with the other stuff later?

Raced motors + 375hp = short life.
There are a lot of things to consider here, not just that you love the FC. Everyone here does or they wouldn't be here. But you have to know your going to have more down time than race time. And you won't get to DD as much. Drifting it 2-3 times a week? Thats a lot of tires and motor stress. Get it swapped over and keep it. No one is telling you to not have one. But I wish you well and maybe I'll see you out on the tracks. I to drift my FC, but I had my TII way before I began tracking it.

Talk to mazdied about this, cause he always goes to the limit with this ****.
He said absolute max is 0.300", so that's why I keep quoting 1/4", which is 0.250" which is (obviously) slightly less than the 0.300" max.
We've done this with out 20B drift FC, and with Yokohama Advan A032R stickies 225 / 50 / 16 up front, we've never had a problem with the steering failing.
We flail this car on the track!

I have to get it realigned because of the coils so thats ok. 1/4" spacer is better than washers right? I can imagine the washers would move around friction and what not. Thanks for the help Ted.

It doesn't really matter cause nothing moves around in there.
If it does get loose, you're got other problems you need to worry about!
But, yes, the 1/4" spacer would be "better", I guess.
