Help me identify this thing that I broke(pics)... and other questions...

I'm trying to get my new RX back together and I'm running into problems with putting the engine back in... First of all I broke this (pictures attached from when I rebuilt the engine... its not broken in these pics)...Its the black circular thing behind the oilfilter neck.. a tube on top goes to a hard vacuum line and there are 2 tubes on the bottom one loops around and goes into the oil filler neck the other goes some where else.. what is it?... its it like a PCV valve or somethign? the vacuum nipple broke off the top... the engine is from an 89 GTU... I need to know so I can get one asap. Also my air pump bracket snapped in half while the engine was going back in... any one have one to sell me?(PM me if you have one)... I am also having trouble finding one of the connectors for the GXL powersteering pump (engine came out of an 89 GTU and is going in an 89 GXL)... I can find the connector with the 6 pins but I cant seem to find the oval-ish connector with only 2 pins anywhere.. Can anyone point me to where it would probably be located?

Thanks for the help,
Rob

Just take your time, get a drink wash your face. Don't get angry and rip things out. Also make sure to strip the engine to the block before you do a swap or reinstall it (it just makes is more easy)
Here is a site to a fsm

Thanks for the link... it was pretty easy to swap the engine in long block form... This just broke because I was careless when trying to remove the part of the harness that goes to the alternator from the engine when taking it out. The air pump bracket broke the first time I stripped the engine... I got it welded together when I did the rebuild and it held up fine until now, the guy said it was crappy material and didn't know if that weld would hold up... so i guess a year of use out of it was all I could ask for... Now would advance or autozone carry the PCV or do I need to go through the mazda dealer or find one on here?

Well advance auto doesnt even list the PCV valve... so I can't get one tonight to tomorrow... no harm will come from me running my engine with out it as long as I cap the the vacuum hose right? I'm just itching to get this car running before I go back to college on monday...

The arrowed part is called a Purge Control Valve (FSM pages F1-7 and F1-70). You will need to get it from Mazda. (P/N 1480-20-950A).

Purge Control Valve. HAHA...its just so funny because I broke this thing 3 times . Its so funny when I think about it now, but I was pretty pissed at the time. Anyways, go to the junk and use an S4 NA one or whatever one you can find. if you want the easy way out, just go to the dealer.

It controls when and how fast evaporative emissions (vapours from the fuel tank and sump) are sucked into the intake.
