help me get flywheel off

13bT s4: trying to get of flywheel, got that MASSIVE nut off, and started using a balance puller to get it of, shattered then thing we were using to keep it out of the shaft, had to use something else, just started destroying the puller, using an impact gun, and the flywheel wont come off, did i miss something?

First, put the nut back on a few threads, you don't want your FW bouncing off the ground when it does come off. I just took a hammer and hit the FW near the edge, varying my points of contact, the vibration shook it loose from the shaft.

will SOMEBODY please freaking sticky a good thread on removing the flywheel? Or archive the sucker? I've answered this WAY too many times for people in the past two weeks.

I just tapped mine with a mallet on opposite sides, towards the block. It eventually came loose.

just take a flat piece of steel drill 2 holes in it where it lines up with the threaded holes in the flywheel.put some spacers behind the plate, against the E-shaft.Turn the bolts until the flywheel pulls off the taper.Worked great for me.What happens as you tighten the bolts it pulls the flywheel towards the plate, and off the taper.

Put the nut back on loosely, get a friend to hold a torch to the flywheel (not the shaft) and bang it with a rubber mallet.

slide hammer puller & circular metal disc about diameter of the flywheel nut.

Put the flywheel nut on, put the disc over it, hook up the slide hammer puller, tighten it a little, slide hammer it, tighten a ilttle, slide hammer it, tighten again, slide hammer it.. *ping*
