Help me define "high" coolant temps pls

What i meant by my post above was that I've heard that if you fixed your fan to be pulling the right way by reversing the wires or polarity or whatever, then it won't flow as much air since it is going backwards. Just an idea, I really have no idea what im talking about.

no its supposed to be a puller. Thats how it was designed.

yep, thats the stuff. Anything that will fill the gaps while tolerating heat and not adding significant weight will do the job. If you're looking efficiency in the cooling system then yeah you should replace them either with oem stuff or an equivalent.

ya i know its supposed to be a puller, but you said it was originally the wrong way and you corrected it, so i was wondering what you did to correct it.

I'm presuming he swapped the positive and negative wires? how else do you change the direction of a DC motor?

Came to my parent's place, sitting at idle car was pushing 195 degrees, nice and hot day. After the flush/redline water wetter, car was at 180, no more no less. Well 170 until i drove it around the block. After a very spirited run (while there are still bubbles in the system lol), the temp went up to 195. Later on in the evening, the car club and I decide to go for a cruise... so after some, once again, spirited driving (this time in a cooler ambient temperature), the temp didnt go past 190. Overall I'm happy with the results, however, the temp does still seem to go up rather quickly when revving over 3,000RPM. I've deduced that my airpump belt IS loose. Probably why it's slipping I guess. That reminds me, if the water pump belts are slipping, would you hear them?

The water pump housing looks brand new, as does the pump, and I imagine that they were changed with the engine 20,000km's ago... So I don't think it's the pump.

I'll give you a better idea of what temps I'm running after i go for a rip when it's a little warmer at noon.

Materials:
8oz Redline Water Wetter
1gal Prestone Green
1gal De-ionized Water

I wouldn't worry about your temps too much. They sound fine.

I saw a steady 105C (225F) at the Shannonville road course yesterday. Keep in mind that is 4000-8000 rpm and boost 95% of the time for minutes on end.

190-200F is nothing for a rotary. As long as the heat from the housings is being transferred to the coolant, its all good

its been a few days now, and the weather's been pretty hot. I still don't see temperatures over 190. ONCE i saw it reach 195ish. but thats because it worked all the air bubbles out and it was a little low on coolant

So all in all, it was the shitty contaminated-*** fluid that was the problem.
